Martial Arts Techniques & Practice
Progression in the martial arts
Training with pads provides for a great workout, and an opportunity to develop 'focus', good hand skills, and an instinct to keep a good guard at all times.
Groundwork plays an important part of our Integrated Fighting Arts system. Whilst being on the ground may not be ideal in a real life street attack situation, knowledge and ability of fighting on the ground can be a very usual skill in your arsenal.
Lock-for-lock flow & counter
Many systems teach locks and holds, but we also teach flow drills (chaining of locks) and counters, plus counters to counters.
Joint-locks and holds are a high-level skills, which also means that they can be high-risk for people who have not practised them to almost an instinctive level. In our Integrated Fighting Arts system training, we emphasise that locks are complimentary to striking in most circumstances anyway.
