Three members of the Academy represented Great Britain at the World University Savate Championships in Nantes, France, 23rd to 26th June 2010.
Sian Clark began training with Julie while still at St Marys School, and later introduced her father, Paul, to the Academy. Now studying at the Royal Veterinary College, Sian fought in the 55-60kg category against top fighters Jacqueline Beroud (France) and Manuela Massari (Italy). She fought well, enjoyed the experience, and returned with a bronze medal.
Senior Instructor Julie Gabriel and Jasbir Nagi (now based in Malvern) accompanied the team as officials.
The GBSF had to gain approval from BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) to send a team to this official FISU championship - we are grateful for their support!
